SALAT
Prayer, act of devotion. Every muslim must pray five times a day. Before you pray, you must perform ablutions. A minor ablution (Wudu) is to wash the face, hands, head and feet. Ablution (Al-Ghusl) required in some cases, consists of washing the whole body. Mosques have a place, usually a courtyard where perform this ritual washing. If you do not have water, you can practice called "dry ablution" wiping with clean sand.
No need for prayer in the mosque because Islam considers all equally sacred land. It goes to the mosque where prayers will be together, especially on Fridays and certain dates. Praying must remove their shoes and place a special mat or a piece of cloth or other material to replace it.
Prayer is done in the direction of Mecca, the spiritual center of Islam, and within this the Kaaba temple located in the center of the largest mosque in the city. The direction in which we look at prayer in Arabic is called the Qibla. In mosques niche indicating the direction of Mecca, and beyond the believer should seek the approximate direction guided by the cardinal points.
Prayer involves the recitation of certain formulas and verses from the Quran, accompanied by a series of inclinations.
The daily prayers are:
* Dawn prayer (Fajr) is made at the time of transition between night and day.
* Midday Prayer ( Zuhr) is made before the sun has traveled halfway separating
the zenith of the setting .
* Evening Prayer (Asr) in the second half of the afternoon. It draws on the color
of the sun : it must be done before the star turn orange tone.
* Prayer sunset (Maghrib) shortly after sunset .
* Night prayer (Isha) during closed hours, at least half an hour after sunset
For prayer is necessary:
1) Being Muslim.
2) It is voluntary for minors (up to age 9), it is mandatory for seniors (10 and over).
3) Being in full possession of his mental faculties.
4) Do not be under the influence of alcohol or any kind of unnerving (both are haram [unlawful] in Islam).
5) Women should not be in period.
6) Being in a state of purity, ie having wudu. Otherwise do wudu or ablution or even complete ablution or ghusl if necessary. But if there was no pure water can be made dry ablution or tayammum.
7) Have the intention (for the cause of Allah).
8) Do it according to how we teach the Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
DRESS TO PRAY:
- MALE: The man costume should at least cover the navel to the knees.
- WOMEN: Women's costumes must cover the body from head to toe leaving only the face and hands uncovered. The prayer offered in transparent clothing is not accepted and equally very tight clothing that is body figure.
